Ayesha Manzil Hotel Kannur is 80 km from Calicut (Kozhikode) International airport which has frequent flights to major Indian cities and occasional ones to Europe. There is a rail link from Calicut to Tellicherry (Thalasseri), which is 5 minutes drive from the Hotel Ayisha Manzil.

The room of Ayesha Manzil where we stayed in had two marvellous wooden four poster beds, an elegant writing desk and divan, and a large bathroom with shower. Even in the hot and humid summer months, the thick walls and tiled floors keep it deliciously cool indoors. All 6 rooms have one or two double beds.

The food in Ayesha Manzil Hotel here is undoubtedly the highlight of each day: a sumptuous feast prepared and presented by the Mrs Faiza Moosa, who joins you with her husband for dinner. We dined on a veritable banquet of tamarind prawns with fenugreek, stuffed mussels (a Tellicherry speciality), beef stew, chicken khurma, chilli spinach and ghee rice. We also tasted the sweet and sour tamarind chutney, raita, eyelash bread, rice bread and finished off with stuffed banana.

The antique furniture in the rooms, including large wooden beds, hand carved writing desks and reclining divans. The incredible array of foods at dinner time. A long, pristine tropical beach just 5 minutes away (free transfers). The cool, emerald-tiled pool, reminiscent of Keralan temple pools. The local colour, from fishermen on the Arabian sea to exotic markets. The bird life which serenades you from dusk to dawn. The masala omelettes served for breakfast.
